We would like to hear about the great time you've had at The Black Sheep! Click here to share your experience with us by filling out the form at the bottom of the page.

Hi, I never been to your pub. But looks good. Makes me thirsty indeed. I've been in many pubs in England and grew up in the cafes in Utrecht!

10 Years and countless ales, lagers and stouts have expanded my belt. But none were as sweet as those first 5 pints of Guiness my first night in the Black Sheep followed by countless evenings with my friends Mike and Dennis and other SOB members. And I will never forget hospitality shown to a stranger especially by Amanda. Look forward to feeling at home again.

We were in Ashland with friends this past weekend, and ended up in the Sheep no less than 4 times in two days... even with all of the abundant and creative cuisine of Ashland at hand. You have a fine establishment with great atmosphere and an excellent grasp of the true concept of the Publick House. Food was all great, and we will definitely be back the next time we are in town.

My family just visited your pub for the first time last weekend. I fell in love. I have not been to a really good pub since I lived in York 8 years ago. The atmosphere is perfect; I loved the fireplace especially. I was flloored to see that you have clotted cream. I have been lloking for a place to get scones and clotted cream for three years! Thank you so much for all of the great vegetarian options and for allowing children until 11pm. We are planning a weekend in Ashland in the Spring just because we want an excuse to hang out at the Black Sheep.

I was once a Black Sheep diva, flitting from table to table with my twirling trays of Guinness. What do I miss most? The familiar faces of the locals, ribbing the kitchen staff, 160's under the ladder, the yummy food, and the wonderful staff and patrons who have become my good friends. Kudos to Susan for your hard work and tenacity.

I was visiting a friend in Ashland at the beginning of the month and stopped in a couple of times between the 1st and 3rd of December because it is her favourite watering hole. Nice place you have there. There are not too many pubs here in England that are as big as the Black Sheep but you have a warm, friendly welcoming place. I'd recommend it to any other Brits visiting your part of the world. Keep up the good work

I moved from Ashland in 1997 and have been feeling a little homesick, so I do a litte search of area attractions and found your website. The cam is great! Brought back a ton of memories of my favorite watering hole on the plaza. I remember sitting on the couch by the fire, drinking pints of porter while watching the fire. I have to say I've never found a place like the Black Sheep. I plan to visit in the spring of 2002 and you can bet I'll be at your place each night while in town. Great job on the site...cheers.

In fact, the way the website is set up almost makes me hungry right on the spot - hungry for both food and the fun that might lie in store for my visit there. Growing up in our beautiful little town I had heard how great an experience English pubs were. It wasn't until 1991 when I traveled to England for military exercises that I was able to experience my first true English pub. It was a beautiful little pub called The Seven Bells not far outside of York, and I was hooked from the first moment I walked in. It wasn't until late in 1993 or early '94 that I was introduced to that very cozy feeling again. My friend had been hanging out at a new pub above the fudge shop, and said I had to see it to believe it. Now all these years later, I call the Black Sheep "my pub", and the staff are all like family. I would like to say good bye to C Bell (see below) and Amanda (aka Noonie). C Bell is off at the U of O to complete her college education. Good Luck darling! Amanda, who will be leaving later this week is headed to Portland to go to medical school, and spend some time as paramedic. Good Luck Noonie! This is just a small sample of the wonderful and unique people and experiences that may be found in this truly one of a kind pub. Thanks to all at the Black Sheep for all of the wonderful times, and the great friendships! I truly look forward to the future!

Never miss enjoying a meal or two at your establishment when visiting in Ashland. Are my tastebuds wrong or has a little pepper sauce been added to the trout pate? The Black Sheep is one of my favorite places to visit on earth! I lived in Ashland for over 2 years and stopped in just about every other night for a McEwan's Scottish Ale and Chips (the chips alone are worth the drive to Ashland!) Good friends, great food, awesome service. That's the Black Sheep!

I was just browsing the Web looking at "Black Sheep" sites, as I am in a local folk (sort of) band that is named Black Sheep. We've been together about 7 years. When your restaurant popped up, I was suprised because I've been to Ashland a few times. I have cousins there! You may know Gerald Pettit, a local artist?? Anyway, I liked your logo -- ours is a great Black Sheep logo also. We have a few albums out and are busy performing in Eastern Iowa. If I get back to Asland again, I will be sure to come in, sample some brew and bring you one of our Black Sheep T-shirts!

A place where I was welcomed in. The sign says "where you belong". I walked up the stairs and found people, food, and beer that reinforced that statement. Not a single place on Burbon Street can hold a candle to the commitment to quality that the Black Sheep Staff have revealed in their creation. It really makes me miss home.
